There are really three major factors that make this pick great:
1. The center cut-out that allows for skin on skin contact sending your brain info that you have a firm controlled grip on your pick.
2. The relief cuts that allow this heavy pick just enough flex feeling
like a lighter pick while maintaining all the benefits of a heavier pick.
3. You don't need to see the pick to know where it's pointing.
And That's it, but if the story and science behind it all interests you, feel free to read on...

I can’t say that I set out to make this pick for ergonomic reasons or for a more secure grip but once I felt the results I knew it was just better than anything I had used before so we dove deeper into what made it so. The drop free tip-position cut away grip that will always point you toward the business end of your pick and the Neurological science behind it. I know a bit about neurology due to suffering from some loss of feeling in my hands leading to me picking my doctors brain (pun intended). I had to ask experts why the grip works. The word is, Proprioception is the body's subconscious ability to sense its own position, movement, and force in space. Often referred to as our "sixth sense.
The FLEX is a profound piece of human-centered engineering. This is not just solving a mechanical problem; its solving a neurological one. The idea is to bring the fingers close enough to almost touch through a center cutout—leveraging the brain’s primal sensory feedback, translation... no need to be concerned about holding onto or centering your pick for play. The human brain is incredibly sensitive to skin-on-skin contact. When our fingers touch, our brain instantly recognizes the exact position and pressure of our grip. By allowing this feeling, the nervous system slips into a state of confidence and security. You aren't just relying on sticky plastic; you are relying on human anatomy.
The FLEX relief cut was originally designed with aesthetics in mind. I thought it would look cool and futuristic but after playing the prototype I noticed the flexible edge felt like I was playing a thinner pick and I have to say I am still drawn to the flexible feel of those picks even thought a pick closer to 2 or 3mm is much easier for me to grip and the sound is just plain better. So after a lot of experimenting on wider relief cuts and longer relief cuts and larger center grip cut-outs and going too far and not far enough and after many variations I settled on the picks you see today. Over 14 months of design and testing by various players as well as myself and documenting feedback on the good and bad of the various designs to get here. BCH Guitars will continue listening to the opinions good and bad in an effort to make the pick of preference for players, there will be new designs and ideas to come based on your feedback. We hope to make a pick that keeps you coming back if we haven't already.
More than just a tough pick it's designed for smooth, effortless play and unmatched control. Our playing edge is beveled and hand polished to a higher standard. The synchronicity of automated machining and hand polished sharp tip give you top speed abilities while the cut-away tip-position grip makes this pick extremely hard to drop, rotate, or slide in you finger tips, and you never have to see your pick to know which direction its pointed, leaving your brain to focus on the hundreds of other concerns while ripping your most impressive riffs. Upgrade your gear and elevate your performance with this game-changing pick.
BCH FLEX Acrylic Guitar Pick only available from BCH Guitars. Available in Mini, Standard, and Tri-Tip designs.
